“City of Flair,” is a travel website designed for the city of Copenhagen, Denmark. The designer took inspiration from the city’s rich iconography to build a website that was appealing and easy to follow. It was imperative that every detail was well thought out and appropriately organized so that the site could have a seamless flow.
Starting with the logotype, it plays homage to the fairytale, “The Little Mermaid,” by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. The statue of the Little Mermaid is a famous symbol of Copenhagen. Moving on to the color palette, this analogous color story was inspired by the water surrounding Copenhagen, and the colorful townhomes lining the river. The silhouettes said townhomes were also included in the different tabs as a way to draw the viewer’s eye into the rest of the page. Lastly, quotes from Andersen were included throughout to fuel the fantasy.
